Clocking Edge History

Clocking Edge was founded in 2000 by Brian Frackelton. Its products are used in more than 60 countries from around the world. Many of the services and products offered today are still developed by its founder. For a given project, several other expert resources may also be utilized as needed by pulling from a trusted engineering network.

The name Clocking Edge is a reference to an electrical event in digital systems. Synchronous memory elements are updated, or clocked, with new data values in response to a clock signal. This event can be associated with either the rising or falling edge of the clock. The term clocking edge generically refers to whichever case is of applicable interest in the system. In doing so, the relevant clock event can be discussed without any indication whether it is rising or falling edge sensitive.
